ASTM A350 LF2 (also written A350 Gr LF2, SA 350 LF2, or simply LF2 material) is a low temperature carbon steel (LTCS) specification covering forged or ring-rolled flanges, forged fittings, and valves intended for low-temperature pressure piping service. “LF” stands for Low Temperature Forging, and Grade LF2 is the most widely specified grade in the A350 family, qualified for service down to −50°F (−45°C).
Unlike standard carbon steel grades such as ASTM A105 — which lose notch toughness at sub-zero temperatures and risk brittle fracture — A350 LF2 is mandatory Charpy V-notch impact tested at −50°F to confirm ductility at low temperatures, making it the required LTCS material for cryogenic, LNG, and cold-climate pipeline applications.
At Nifty Alloys, we supply ASTM A350 LF2 in round bars, plates, and forged blanks from our Dubai warehouse, backed by EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates (MTCs) for full chemical and mechanical traceability.
