What is BS2789 Grade 420-12 SG Iron? 

BS2789 Grade 420-12 is a specific grade of ductile iron defined by its guaranteed mechanical properties. The designation "420-12" provides direct insight into its performance characteristics: 

• 420: This number signifies the minimum tensile strength of the material, measured in megapascals (MPa). A value of 420 MPa indicates a high level of strength suitable for load-bearing and stress-intensive applications. 
• 12: This number represents the minimum percentage elongation at fracture.
